In the aether of the post-digital, embellishment is substance. Precious/trashy, pure/adulterated, novel/mundane - embellishment subverts the phallic categories of late capital, blessing the banal with the ethereal via democratized tools. Manipulation, filtering, retouching, flash - gossamer connexions are drawn between the objects we touch, the spaces we inhabit, and the worlds we share online. Our fingers race across smooth glass, snagging glints of the angelic in our screenglare, augmenting material sensuality with impossible aura.

The works presented here have, each in their own way, accumulated a sublime presence through the erotic crafts of embellishment and artifice.

A digital exhibition curated by Lief Pan (as part of the Wrong Biennale) will occur concurrently with a physical show of works at the Estate, an antique dollhouse and exhibition space hosted by evA l’avasseur.
